I was cataloging some items relating to St James Presbyterian Church last week, when I stumbled upon these:
There were six of them, still in what looks to be the original envelope, and in such good condition that I felt like I could've attended the Annual Soiree with them myself. The Soiree was in 1893.
Interestingly, when I looked it up on Papers Past, I found this public notice saying that the date of the Annual Soiree had been changed from Thursday the 21st to Tuesday the 19th. The pristine appearance of these tickets makes me wonder if the ticket-holders somehow missed out.
Edit: On Tuesday I got the tickets back out again for a closer look at the tickets' envelope. It turns out they're from a set of eighteen, of which twelve were sold or given away. These are the remaining six!!
